Abstract:
A keyless drill chuck having a mechanism against loosening by impact includes a
drill body which assembles the gripping jaws, bearing assembly and nut together, a
jacket, a snap spring, a front housing, a back housing, a retaining ring and a cover.
The screw thread on the gripping jaws mesh with the thread on the nut; the jacket
is fixedly attached to the nut ring; the snap spring is made of elastic material, and
it connects with the jacket and the front housing by twist tabs. So the front housing
can rotate along with the snap spring and the jacket, and further rotate the nut
ring. The width of the straight groove of the front housing is wider than that of
the twist tabs, so the front housing can rotate to a predetermined extent with
respect to the snap spring. Therefore, the spring strips have two positions: a
position in which the gripping jaws contact with the drill body and another position in
which the gripping jaws do not contact with the drill body. So it can control the
nut ring to rotate or not, thus preventing the drill chuck from loosening by impact.
