Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention

[27] With reference to figures, the present invention is described in detail hereinafter.

[28] Figs. 1 and 2 are a top perspective view and a bottom view illustrating a kimchi press plate (1) of the present invention, respectively.

[29] As shown, the kimchi press plate (1) of the present invention is comprised of a concave part(4) formed at an upper part of the kimchi press plate (1) and a convex part of bottom part, i.e. a projection type press part (9) having a lateral part (8) and a longitudinal part (7).

[30] At the upper part, an outer projection (2) is formed at a periphery of a bottom surface 3 in which the concave part (4) is formed, the outer projection (2) being slightly higher than the bottom surface (3). At a side surface, a coupling part (5) provided with a pair of coupling projection (10) at an inside thereof are formed (see Fig. 2).

[31] Because the concave part (4) is a very deep groove, foreign substances may be inserted into the concave part (4) and an external appearance thereof is not good. Therefore, where a product is really going to be launched, concave part (4) is not externally appeared by attaching a leaflet of a product and so on onto the bottom surface (3) inside the outer projection (2).

[32] Further, the press part (9) which is formed a bottom part is projected so as to correspond to the concave part (4) and is comprised of the lateral part (8) and a longitudinal part (7). Heights and widths of the lateral part (8) and a longitudinal part (7) are the same or alike.

[33] The reference numeral (6) which is not explained in the figures denotes a hand grip and the hand grip (6) may be used when gripping the kimchi press plate (1) or when inserting the kimchi press plate (1) in a kimchi container (11).

[34] Fig. 3 is a top perspective view illustrating the kimchi press plate (1) and the kimchi container (11), in which the kimchi press plate (1) of the present invention is not yet coupled to the kimchi container (11).

[35] As shown, the kimchi press plate (1) according to an embodiment of the present

invention can be coupled and fixed to the kimchi container (11) which contains kimchi (15) and kimchi soup (16).

[36] The kimchi container (11) is not particularly limited as long as it can contain the kimchi. However, in the present embodiment, the kimchi container (11) is provided, as shown, with a support part (12) of plastic material at an upper part thereof and a pouch type receiving part (14) at a lower part thereof. Further, an engaging projection (13) is formed at an outer grith of the support part (12) and the engaging projection (13) can be inserted between the pair of the coupling projections (10) (see Fig. 2) formed at the inside of the coupling part (5) of the kimchi press plate (1) thereby the kimchi press plate is fixed to the kimchi container.

[37] Meanwhile, as the lower portion of the container (11), injection molded container and thermoformed container which are integratedly formed with the support part (12) as well as the above mentioned pouch type receiving part (14) may be possible.

[38] A reference numeral (16) which is not explained in the figures denotes kimchi soup generated while the kimchi is fermented and (17) denotes a separate hand grip hanger which enables to hold the kimchi container by provided at left and right sides of the support part (12).

[39] Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view illustrating the kimchi press plate and the kimchi container shown in Fig. 3, in which the kimchi press plate (1) is coupled to the kimchi container (11).

[40] As shown, when the kimchi press plate (1) of the present invention is coupled to the support part (12) of the upper portion of the kimchi container (11), the engaging projection (13) in Fig. 3 is inserted and engaged to the pair of the coupling projections (10) in Fig. 2 and thus they are securely coupled to each other.

[41] As such, if the kimchi press plate (1) of the present invention provided with the press part (9) having the lateral part (8) and longitudinal part (7) is coupled to the kimchi container (11), the lateral part (8) and longitudinal part (7) of the press part (9) presses the kimchi (15) contained in the kimchi container (11) and thus the kimchi is sufficiently sunk under the kimchi soup (16).

[42] In other words, since the seasoned kimchi (15) comes to be deeply sunk under the kimchi soup (16) as the press part (9) having the lateral part (8) and longitudinal part (7) presses the kimchi within the kimchi container (11), it is possible to ensure a space in which the kimchi soup (16) can act to buffer within the container, it is possible to prevent discoloration, decolorization and physical deterioration of the kimchi and generation of yeast and mold as the kimchi cannot be in contact with oxygen and further it is possible to improve taste of the kimchi (15) because the CO gas generated from the kimchi (15) is stored in a state of being contained within the kimchi (15) and the kimchi soup (16).

[43] Furthermore, an external shape of a package can be maintained by this pressing force (supporting force) from the inside of the container (11), which is capable of raising displaying effect during distribution and improving safekeeping since the container (11) is not fell down when stored in a kimchi refrigerator or a general refrigerator. Industrial Applicability

[44] The present invention provides a kimchi press plate coupled to a kimchi container and keeping the kimchi in a state of being pressed, which ensures a space for buffering for kimchi juice in the kimchi container and allows for kimchi to be sufficiently sunk under the kimchi juice thereby improving taste and safekeeping of the kimchi.
