Abstract:
The present invention relates to a new structure of a reciprocating internal combustion engine. Said engine is provided with cylinder groups. Each group consists of two cylinders, of which one cylinder is used as intake-compression cylinder, which only performs the intake and compressing stroke, the other as combustion-exhaust cylinder, which only performs the combustion and exhaust stroke. A passage is provided between the intake-compression cylinder and the combustion-exhaust cylinder. An intake valve is provided in the portion of the passage near the intake-compression cylinder, another intake valve is provided in the portion of the passage near the combustion-exhaust cylinder. This invention can be used in vehicle, ship and so on, and is low in fuel consumption and pollution.
