Title:
KIOSK HAVING AN AUTOMATIC HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT FUNCTION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/012152
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a kiosk having an automatic height adjustment function which is capable of receiving desired information by using a touch screen monitor. The kiosk includes: an installation board including a movement roller for easily moving and disposing the kiosk; a support on which a control part for controlling is disposed, the support being vertically coupled to an upper portion of the installation board; an object detection sensor disposed on a center of the support to detect the approach of a user, a pair of first rails vertically disposed on an upper front surface of the support; an upper and lower operation part including a deceleration motor disposed on a lower portion of the support and an operation gear disposed on an upper portion of the support and connected to the deceleration motor by a chain, the upper and lower operation part being operated by the control part according to the detection of the object detection sensor; and a touch screen monitor including a second rail and a rack gear, which are respectively coupled to the first rail and the operation gear, on a rear surface thereof, the touch screen monitor including a height sensor for detecting the stature of the user by being operated according to the detection by the object detection sensor on an upper front surface thereof, and a speaker on a lower front surface thereof. Thus, when the approach of the user is detected through the object detection sensor, the upper and lower operation part may be operated under the control of the control part to elevate the touch screen monitor. Here, the elevation operation of the touch screen monitor may be automatically adjusted to the chest height of the user by detecting the stature of the user through the height sensor. Also, according to the present invention, since the touch screen monitor is automatically adjusted in height by the object detection sensor and the height sensor, the old and the infirm such as children and disabled persons as well as adults may easily use the touch screen monitor at statures adequate for their height. When the object detection sensor does not detect the user, the touch screen monitor may be automatically returned in terms of installed height to the chest height of a person having an average stature. Thus, after disabled persons taken in wheelchairs or children use the touch screen monitor, ordinary persons having a high frequency of use may conveniently use the touch screen monitor. Also, after the height adjustment of the touch screen monitor is completed through the detection of the height adjustment sensor, the elevated height of the touch screen monitor may not be changed unless the user leaves the detection range of the object detection sensor. Thus, the user may freely search for information while moving his/her upper body without the inconvenience of use due to surrounding persons who are tall. Also, since the elevation operation is performed by the deceleration motor using electric power, the chain, and the rack gear, the touch screen monitor may be easily elevated regardless of the weight and size of the touch screen monitor. Also, since the height sensor is disposed on the upper front surface of the touch screen monitor to detect the frontal height of the human body, the touch screen monitor may be easily installed regardless of a size of a touch screen monitor manufactured on a large-scale according to the latest trends and the interior height of a building. Also, since the touch screen monitor is easily moved to a desired position through the movement roller, the disposition and maintenance of the touch screen monitor may be easily enabled.
