Abstract:
Provided is a knee bolster which easily controls a load by which plastic deformation is started to a desired value without greatly increasing a vehicle weight. According to the present invention, provided is a knee bolster which is deformed by the input of a load from an occupant's knee and absorbs an impact to the knee, the knee bolster being provided with: a low-load absorption part having a load input surface to which the load is inputted from the knee; and a high-load absorption part disposed side by side with the low-load absorption part in a load input direction at a position more distant from the knee than the low-load absorption part and having a larger plastic deformation start load than the low-load absorption part, and the low-load absorption part and the high-load absorption part being configured from integral or separate hollow structures.
