Description:
A KNIFE

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to the technical sector relating to knives. DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART

A knife of known type, used for example in a kitchen, comprises a main body constituted by a cutting portion made of steel, comprising a blade, and a coupling tab which projects from the cutting portion. This coupling tab has very small dimensions relative to the cutting portion.

The above-mentioned knife further comprises a grip made of plastic and to which the main body is glued, at the relative coupling tab.

In particular, the coupling tab of the main body can be simply glued to the grip or, alternatively, the grip can include a seating conformed for receiving the coupling tab. In this case the coupling tab is jointed and glued to the grip.

However, in both cases, after repeated use of the knife the grip can detach from the main body, making the knife unusable.

This drawback is more evident the lower the quality of the knife.

Further, in a case where the grip comprises the seating, cleaning the knife after use might be difficult: waste food, for example, might get stuck in the interstice between the grip and the coupling tab, making the knife difficult to wash.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In the above-mentioned light of the above, the aim of the present invention consists in obviating the above-cited drawbacks. -

The above-mentioned aims are obtained by a knife according to claim 1.

In the knife of the present invention the main body, made in a single body, comprises both the cutting portion and the grip portion. Therefore even after numerous uses, there is no risk with the knife of the invention of the grip portion detaching from the main body. Further, with the aim of making the grip more ergonomic, the knife of the invention includes removably fixing the cladding element to the grip portion of the main body.

The fact that the cladding element is removably fixable to the grip portion of the main body makes it easy to wash the knife after use.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Specific embodiments of the invention will be described in the following parts of the present description, according to what is set down in the claims and with the aid of the appended tables of drawings, in which:

- figures 1 and 2 are respectively lateral views of a first embodiment of the knife of the present invention;

- figures 3 and 4 are respectively a view from above of figure 2 and a view from below of figure 1 ;

- figures 5 and 6 are respectively lateral views of a second embodiment of the knife of the present invention;

- figures 7 and 8 are respectively lateral views of a third embodiment of the knife of the present invention;

- figure 9 is a perspective view of the knife of figure 6 in which the cladding element and the main body are decoupled;

- figure 10 is a perspective view of the knife of figure 6.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

With reference to the appended tables of drawings, reference numeral (1) denotes a knife, object of the present invention.

The knife (1) of the present invention comprises a main body (2) that comprises a cutting portion (20) comprising a blade (20a) and a grip portion (21) conformed so as to be gripped during use of the knife (1 ). The main body (2) is made in a single body. The knife (1) further comprises a cladding element (3) which is removably fixable to the main body (2) and which is conformed so as to at least partly clad the grip portion (21) of the main body (2).

As the main body (2) comprises both the cutting portion (20) and the grip portion (21) and as the main body (2) is realised in a single body, the knife (1) is advantageously extremely sturdy and long-lasting.

Further, as the cladding element (3) is removably fixable to the main body (2), the knife (1) is advantageously practical to wash.

The main body (2) can for example be made of steel or ceramic material.

The knife (1 ) preferably comprises a first tab (4) which develops from the grip portion (21) of the main body (2) and a first seating (5) fashioned in the cladding element (3) for receiving the first tab (4). The first seating (5) and the first tab (4) are reciprocally arranged and conformed so that when the first tab (4) is inserted in the first seating (5), the cladding element (3) is fixed to the main body (2) and at least partly clads the grip portion (21) of the main body

(2) .

The first tab (4) and the first seating (5) advantageously enable simply and rapidly fixing the cladding element (3) to the main body (2).

The first tab (4) can for example be made of steel or ceramic material.

The main body (2) and the first tab (4) can be made in a single body. In this case they are made of a same material.

The first seating (5) can be a through-hole fashioned in the cladding element

(3) .

Further, the knife can comprise a second tab (6) which develops from the grip portion (21) of the main body (2) and a second seating (7) fashioned in the cladding element (3) for receiving the second tab (6). The first seating (5), the second seating (7), the first tab (4) and the second tab (6) are reciprocally arranged and conformed such that when the first tab (4) is inserted in the first seating (5) and the second tab (6) is inserted in the second seating (7), the cladding element (3) is fixed to the main body (2) and at least partly clads the grip portion (21) of the main body (2).

In a preferred embodiment, with reference to the figures, the second tab (6) develops in an opposite direction to the development direction of the first tab (4).

Fixing the cladding element (3) to the main body (2) is advantageously more stable and secure.

The second tab (6) can for example be made of steel or ceramic material.

The main body (2) and the second tab (6) can also be made in a single body. In this case they are made of a same material.

The second seating (7) can be a through-hole fashioned in the cladding element (3).

In particular, with reference to the figures, according to the preferred embodiment, the main body (2), the first tab (4) and the second tab (5) are made in a single body. In this case they are made of a same material (for example steel or ceramic material).

With particular reference to figure 9, the grip portion (21) comprises a first wall (21 a), a second wall (21 b) opposite the first wall (21 a) and a third wall (21c) conjoining the first wall (21a) and the second wall (21 b). Further, the cladding element (3) is C-shaped and comprises a first portion (3a) conformed for cladding at least the first wall (21 a) of the grip portion (21), a second portion (3b) opposite the first portion (3a) and conformed for cladding at least the second wall (21 b) of the grip portion (21), and a third portion (3c) conjoining the first portion (3a) and the second portion (3b) for cladding at least the third wall (21c) of the grip portion (21).

The C-shaped cladding element (3) can comprise, as illustrated in figure 9, a groove (22), which involves the first portion (3a), the second portion (3b) and the third portion (3c), so that the first wall (21a), the second wall (21 b) and the third wall (21 c) of the grip portion (21) insert in the groove (22) when the cladding element (3) is coupled to the grip portion (21).

This conformation of the cladding element (3) advantageously makes the knife (1 ) particularly ergonomic and easy to use.

The first seating (5) is preferably fashioned in the first portion (3a) of the cladding element (3) and the first tab (4) develops from the first wall (21 a) of the grip portion (21) of the main body (2).

Further, the second seating (7) can be fashioned in the second portion (3b) of the cladding element (3) and the second tab (6) can develop from the second wall (21 b) of the grip portion (21) of the main body (2).

With reference to figure 9, the main body (2) can have a planar development (the main body (2) is substantially plate-conformed). This conformation advantageously enables minimising the material used for realising the main body (2), making the knife (1) less expensive and lighter.

The first tab (4) also preferably has a planar development in the same plane as the planar development plane of the main body (2).

Further, the second tab (6) also has a planar development in the same development plane as the planar development plane of the main body (2).

The cladding element (3) can be made of an elastically deformable element; in this way the removable fixing thereof to the main body (2) is also easier.

The cladding element (3) is preferably made of a plastic material or of pakkawood or acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS).
