Abstract:
Provided is a knitting process for weaving a single strand pile yarn by means of two-shuttle weaving in a two-system computerized flat knitting machine, comprising passing an S-twisted single strand yarn (1) through a yarn guide, and passing a Z twisted single strand yarn (2) through another yarn guide, the Z-twisted single strand yarn having the same yarn count and twist as the S twisted single strand yarn (1), but the opposite twist direction thereto, and causing the two yarn guides to weave such that one moves in front of the other in an alternating manner. The invention balances internal forces in the resulting knitted fabric by virtue of a twisting force, which is generated in one direction by using one twisting direction, counteracting a twisting force generated in the opposite direction by using another twisting direction, such that weft skewing is corrected at a fundamental level, thereby overcoming the problem of weft skewing associated with single strand yarn weaving and enhancing the pilling resistance of a pile fabric. Moreover, the method of the present invention can increase production speed and reduce production costs.
