Abstract:
The present invention pertains to: a novel human-derived probiotic strain that is Lactobacillus paracasei KBL382, Lactobacillus paracasei KBL384, or Lactobacillus paracasei KBL385; and a use of the strain for improving intestinal health and treating or preventing intestinal diseases. The strain according to the present invention has excellent anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory functions, has a superb strengthening effect on tight junctions of the intestinal tract wall, suppresses enteritis-induced weight loss and colon length reduction, thereby exhibiting a therapeutic effect for enteritis, and significantly alleviates the symptoms of atopic dermatitis. Therefore, the strain can be useful as a probiotic material for enhancing anti-inflammatory effects, strengthening immunity, improving intestinal health functions, and alleviating allergic diseases.
