Abstract:
A ladder for access to a cargo deck of a truck, which is used in a way leaned against
the cargo deck at desired location. Paired side rails are each composed of a lower
rail section and an upper rail that fits into the lower rail section in a telescopic
manner. Rungs or steps are connected to the side rails at regular intervals. Grasping
members are attached to the side rails to grasp from above and below an edge of a
sidewall turned to the horizontal. The grasping members are installed about
halfway of the upper telescopic side rails while no rung is provided above the
grasping members to use the side rails above the grasping members for safety rails.
The ladder, even when getting leaned on the side wall of the cargo deck turned to
the horizontal, is kept against slipping away from the side wall of the cargo deck
and held securely in the leaned posture. In addition, the ladder can support the
side wall of the cargo deck from below, thereby reinforcing the side wall in strength
standing up to much load.
