Abstract:
The present invention provides a ladder overturn prevention device capable of supporting a ladder firmly and stably, thereby preventing the same from overturning. The present invention comprises a pivot bracket, an outrigger leg, a lever, a slider, a locking link, and a spring element. The pivot bracket is mounted on a side rail of the ladder. A first pivot is coupled to a distal part of the lower portion of the pivot bracket, which is arranged on a side far from the side rail. A second pivot is coupled to a proximal part of the upper portion of the pivot bracket, which is arranged to be adjacent to the side rail. The outrigger leg has a first end, which is rotatably coupled to the first pivot, and a second end, which can be supported on the floor. A rail groove is formed on the outer surface of the outrigger along the longitudinal direction. The outrigger leg rotates about the first pivot between a folded position, in which the same is folded with regard to the side rail, and an unfolded position, in which the same is unfolded from the side rail and can support the second end on the floor. The lever has a first end, which is rotatably coupled to the second pivot, and a second end, to which a third pivot is coupled. The slider is mounted on the rail groove to be able to slide along the rail groove. The same has a guide slot formed along the longitudinal direction. The locking link is mounted so as to connect the third pivot and the guide slot in an operational manner, and constrains the rotation of the outrigger leg in the unfolded position of the outrigger leg. The spring element is mounted such that the slider can be elastically deflected towards the first end of the lever. According to the present invention, when the outrigger lever is unfolded and supported on the floor, the lever and the locking link interwork together with the outrigger leg and constrain the rotation of the outrigger leg such that the ladder is supported by the outrigger leg firmly and stably, thereby preventing the ladder from overturning very effectively.
