Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a laminated light guide composed of a light guide plate having excellent visibility and an optical anisotropic film, and a planar light source device composed of the laminated light guide and a light source.
[Solution] Provided is a laminated light guide that includes: a light guide plate having an emission surface that allows light entering from an end surface to exit therefrom after being bent in the surface direction, the light guide plate maximizing the emission intensity on the emission surface at an angle of 20° to 60° relative to a direction perpendicular to the emission surface; and an optical anisotropic film laminated onto the emission surface directly or over another layer and having variable diffusibility according to the light incidence angle. The surface of the light guide plate opposite the emission surface has a plurality of concave or convex-like structures that are 50 µm or less in size and 50 µm or less in height or depth. The optical anisotropic film has a matrix region and a structural region composed of a plurality of structures. The linear transmittance of the optical anisotropic film represented by the quantity of light incident on and linearly transmitted through the optical anisotropic film / the quantity of incidence light is 30% or less at an angle that maximizes the emission intensity of the light guide plate. Also provided is a planar light source device that uses the laminated light guide.
