Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a laminated pyroelectric element capable of increasing the temperature change (dT/dt) per unit time. [Solution] This laminated pyroelectric element is provided with: a laminate in which a plurality of pyroelectric layers are stacked in the thickness direction thereof; internal electrode layers which are disposed between the pyroelectric layers, and one end of each of which extends up to the outer peripheries of the adjacent pyroelectric layers; and an external electrode that connects every other one of the internal electrode layers at respective one ends thereof. The laminated pyroelectric element has a pair of first surfaces that are orthogonal to the lamination direction of the pyroelectric layers, a pair of second surfaces that are orthogonal to the first surfaces and parallel to the lamination direction of the pyroelectric layers, and a pair of third surfaces that are orthogonal to both the first and second surfaces. When the distance between the first surfaces is defined as x1, the distance between the second surfaces is defined as x2, and the distance between the third surfaces is defined as x3, the relations x1>x3 and x2>x3 are satisfied.
