This invention provides a laminated steel plate for the production of a can body of a two piece can satisfying the following three formulae. The laminated steel plate has on its at least one side a polyester resin layer. The polyester resin layer comprises at least one diol, selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol and butylene glycol, and terephthalic acid as polymerization main components and has a plane orientation coefficient of not more than 0.06. d ≤ r; 0.1 ≤ d/R ≤ 0.25; and 1.5 ≤ h/(R-r) ≤ 4 wherein R:radius of circular laminated steel plate before molding which is equivalent to the weight of the can body in the two piece can; h: height of the can body; r: maximum radius of the can body; and d: minimum radius of the can body. When the circular plate of the laminated steel plate is subjected to multistage molding, a two piece can body formed of a laminated steel plate is obtained which has a high degree of working as in the case of a two piece can for an aerosol can and is free from the separation and breaking of the resin layer.
