Abstract:
A lamp holding section (23) capable of holding a tubular cold-cathode tube (17) is installed on an installation plate (21) through a connection section (28). The lamp holding section (23) is of an annular shape with ends that surrounds the cold-cathode tube (17). That surface of the lamp holding section (23) which faces the cold-cathode tube (17) has recesses (34). The recesses (34) are each formed in the surface facing the cold-cathode tube (17), between a connection portion connecting the connection section (28) and a fore-end section of the lamp holding section. The recesses (34) allow the lamp holding section (23) to deflect so as to be displaced in the direction in which the fore-end sections depart from the peripheral surface of the cold-cathode tube (17).
