Abstract:
Provided are: a lamp unit that can form an irradiation pattern on a road surface almost without tilting the inclination of a lamp unit axis with respect to the road surface; and a vehicle lighting tool using the lamp unit. A lamp unit (20) has, arranged along a lamp unit axis (A2): a light source (31); a condenser lens (22) that condenses light from the light source (31); a light-shielding member (shade 23) provided with an irradiation slit (35) through which the light condensed by the condensing lens (22) partially passes; and a projection lens (24) that projects the light that has passed through the light-shielding member (shade 23) to form an irradiation pattern (Pi). The projection lens (24) has a reference focus (Fb) set on the lamp unit axis (A2), and is disposed at a position that is attained when being rotated downward about the reference focus (Fb) so that a projection lens axis (A5) is directed further downward than the lamp unit axis (A2).
