Abstract:
Provided is a lane information generating method with which it is possible to generate, with a high degree of accuracy, lane information for lanes which increase and decrease from the lane of travel. By determining characteristic points (P3 and P4) not based on traveling trajectory information of a vehicle (10) but also the shape of an line of increase (L1) of an additional lane (LN3) which is added to two lanes of travel (LN1, LN2), a control unit (5) can generate, with a high degree of accuracy, characteristics points (P3 and P4) as lane information for an additional lane (L1), using, as supplementary information, information about the shape of the additional lane (L1) at positions where there is a tendency for variations to occur in the travel trajectory.
