Abstract:
The present invention relates to a large-capacity metal catalyst carrier having an assembly structure in which the shape of each of a plurality of unit catalyst carrier blocks is improved to enable effective assembly, and the unit catalyst carrier blocks are easily assembled to obtain a large-size large-capacity metal catalyst carrier, such that the thus-assembled carrier can be applied to a catalytic converter for systems which require the treatment of a large amount of exhaust gas, such as large ships using a plurality of large-capacity internal combustion engines, plants, or large-capacity food waste disposal units. The present invention also relates to a large-capacity catalytic converter using the carrier. The catalyst carrier of the present invention comprises a plurality of unit catalyst carrier blocks stacked into layers, wherein each of the unit catalyst carrier blocks has a polygonal support for accommodating a cell form in which a plurality of hollow cells with catalyst-coated surfaces is arranged in a lengthwise direction; and a plurality of assembly members for fixing a pair of supports, which contact each other, to the gaps among the stacked unit catalyst carrier blocks.
