A large direct current uninterruptible power supply system and power supply method, the system comprising: a rectifying unit (11), a direct current charging unit (13), a control unit (15), a change-over switch (17), and a standby battery (19). The rectifying unit is used for changing the voltage of inputted alternating current, rectifying and outputting direct current to form a main power supply circuit; the direct current charging unit is connected to the rectifying unit and the control unit and is used for inputting the direct current outputted by the rectifying unit to charge the standby battery; the standby battery is connected to the change-over switch and is used for forming a standby power supply circuit when the change-over switch is closed. The system avoids impact to the direct current charging unit from the alternating current, reduces power system harmonic waves and interference to a power grid.
