Abstract:

A laser device that is provided with: a plurality of multimode semiconductor lasers that output multimodal laser light; an optical multiplexer that multiplexes and outputs the laser light; multimode optical fibers that connect the plurality of multimode semiconductor lasers and the multiplexing device and that are provided with a core part, a cladding part that is formed around the outer periphery of the core part, and a coating part that covers the outer periphery of the cladding; a first bent part that is formed in the optical fibers and that is bent so as to have a prescribed first bend length and a prescribed first bend radius; a heat-dissipating part that is formed on the first bent part on the outside of the coating part and that dissipates the heat of the optical fibers; and a second bent part that is formed in the multimode optical fibers between the first bent part and the optical multiplexer and that is bent so as to have a prescribed second bend radius. Increases in the temperature of the second bent part are suppressed by the dissipation of heat from the heat-dissipating part. A highly reliable, miniaturizable laser device is thereby provided.
