Abstract:
This laser device can switch between two wavelengths. More specifically, laser oscillation can be carried out stably without increasing excitation power for wavelengths on the low laser gain side. A flash lamp (52) shines excitation light on a laser rod (51). An optical resonator includes a pair of facing mirrors (53, 54) that sandwich the laser rod (51). A wavelength switching unit (56) controls the wavelength of light oscillated by the optical resonator. When the wavelength switching unit (56) is controlling the optical resonator such that oscillation is at the first wavelength, which is a wavelength on the low laser gain side, a first short wavelength laser (57) carries out injection seeding of the first wavelength light in the resonator.
