Title:
LASER DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2008/029859
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A laser device (300) comprising a DFB fiber laser (40) having as an amplifying medium a rare earth added silica-based optical fiber containing aluminum codoped at high concentration, an optical feedback path (50) formed by a ring-form optical fiber, and an optical coupler (70) for feeding back part of an output from the DFB fiber laser (40) to the DFB fiber laser (40) via the optical feedback path (50) and outputting the other part of the DFB fiber laser (40) to the outside, wherein the optical fiber forming the optical feedback path (50) is longer than a length provided by relaxed oscillation noise having -110dB/Hz in an output to the outside.
