Title:
LASER DOPPLER RADAR APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2003/100458
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A laser Doppler radar apparatus capable of measurement with a high S&sol N ratio even when the phase of the received light fluctuates and detecting a wind speed in a measurement range even when signal components of a plurality of ranges are overlapped on the received light. The apparatus comprises a light source, a code series generator for generating a modulation signal in accordance with a code series, an optical modulation device for FSK−modulating a light signal from the light source by two frequencies in accordance with the modulation signal, an optical transmission&sol reception block for transmitting the FSK−modulated optical signal into the atmosphere and receiving a reception light from a plurality of ranges in the atmosphere, an optical divider for dividing the light signal from the light source and generating a local light, a heterodyne receiver for heterodyne−detecting the received light with the local light, a converter for A&sol D converting the detected signal, and a signal processing block for processing the converted signal. The signal processing block cancels a signal component from a range other than one measurement range in the atmosphere and detects a Doppler frequency in the measurement range.
