Abstract:
Disclosed in the present application is a laser having a tunable wavelength. The laser having a tunable wavelength comprises a reflective semiconductor optical amplifier, three couplers and at least two micro-ring resonators; the reflective semiconductor optical amplifier is connected to one port of a first coupler, a portion of the at least two micro-ring resonators is placed between another port of the first coupler and one port of a second coupler, the other portion of the at least two micro-ring resonators is placed between a third port of the first coupler and a second port of the second coupler, and a third port and fourth port of the second coupler are connected to two ports of a third coupler. By means of a symmetrical design, the laser having a tunable wavelength disclosed in the present application may increase optical signal outputting efficiency.
