Abstract:
Provided is a laser ignition device (1) that is attached to an internal combustion engine (5) and that comprises: a laser ignition plug (10) equipped with at least an optical window (100) for protecting an optical element from high temperatures and high pressure that occur in a combustion chamber; a cylindrical pre-chamber (152); a pre-chamber throat section (151) that has a smaller cross-sectional area than the pre-chamber and that has a closed-end cylindrical shape; and a pre-chamber cap (15) comprising a plurality of pre-chamber injection holes (150) that communicate with a combustion chamber (500) on the closed end (153) side of the pre-chamber throat section (151). The pre-chamber (152), the pre-chamber throat section (151), and the pre-chamber cap (15) are arranged between the optical window (100) and the combustion chamber (500), a focus point (FP) is arranged on the inside of the pre-chamber (152), a mixed gas that is introduced into the pre-chamber (152) is ignited, and a combustion flame is injected from the pre-chamber (152) into the combustion chamber (500) in order to perform ignition in the internal combustion engine (5). The central axis (AXF) of the pre-chamber (152) is horizontally eccentric with respect to the central axis (AXS) of the pre-chamber throat section (151).
