Abstract:
Disclosed is a laser lap welding method for a galvanized steel sheet. Two steel sheets, at least one of which is galvanized, are overlapped by using the galvanized steel sheet as a bonding face, and the two steel sheets in the lapping region are lap-welded by irradiating the surface of one steel sheet in the overlapping region with a laser. The laser is emitted in a predetermined power density and at a predetermined traveling velocity, to thereby form a slender hole (42) partially and temporarily in a steel sheet (20) at least on the surface side in molten pools (45 to 47) extending backward from the laser-irradiated position. The welding operation is carried out by discharging the metal vapor (41) produced by the laser irradiation, from the slender hole backward of the laser traveling direction and toward the laser irradiation source.
