Abstract:
A laser welding device 10 is provided with: a laser head 2 that radiates a laser beam LB onto a workpiece 7; and an optical interferometer 20 that measures the depth of welding penetration of a welding section 7a. The optical interferometer 20 comprises: a first optical fiber 23 that guides object light MLA branched from measurement light ML, coaxial with and differing in wavelength from the laser beam LB, to the workpiece 7; a second optical fiber 26 that guides reference light MLB branched from the measurement light ML; and a computation unit 4b that calculates the welding penetration depth of the welding section 7a on the basis of a differential signal between the reference light MLB and the object light MLA reflected by the workpiece 7. First and second covering sections 24, 27 that cover the first and second optical fibers 23, 26, respectively, are of mutually equal thickness.
