Abstract:
On the occasion of determining the welding quality of a welding section (W) in laser welding, images of the welding section (W) to the vicinity thereof are captured using a high-speed camera (11), the number of spatters (P) and the surface area of a high-intensity section per unit length in the captured images are analyzed as parameters by an analysis unit (12), the analyzed parameters are contrasted with the comparison table which has been previously prepared to determine the quality of the welding of the welding section (Wa), and the welding quality of the welding section (W) is displayed on a monitor (13). Shearing strength prediction or fracture mode prediction as well as the quality determination of the welding section in the laser welding can be performed in-process, resulting in the possibility of quality control corresponding to high-speed and high-precision laser welding.
