Abstract:
In order to configure a lash adjuster that reduces the impact of a pressing force acting on a pressure-bearing operating member, and reliably opens a valve only by a required amount, this lash adjuster: is provided with a pressure-bearing operating member that receives a pressing force, and a relay operating member that opens an intake valve, said pressure-bearing operating member and relay operating member being able to move relative to each other; and a pressure-bearing-side damper space is formed in these engaging portions, and an orifice, which minimizes the outflow of oil in the pressure-bearing-side damper space when the pressure-bearing operating member and relay operating member operate in the approaching direction, is formed. A contact section, which directly transmits the pressing force of the pressure-bearing operating member to the relay operating member when the pressure-bearing operating member and relay operating member approach each other, is formed.
