Abstract:

Provided is a latch release device for a vehicle door comprising: an electric actuator that can provide latch release power for releasing the latched state of a door; a latch mechanism that is configured so as to release the latched state of the door in response to actuation of the electric actuator and input of mechanical latch release operation force; and a latch release operation member that enables normal operation by a vehicle user in which the electric actuator is actuated, and emergency operation by the vehicle user in which mechanical latch release operation force is input into the latch mechanism. While a regulated release operation member (37) that can be operated by the vehicle user is in a non-operation state, emergency operation of a latch release operation member (29) is regulated by an emergency operation regulation means (38), and the emergency operation regulation means (38) allows emergency operation of the latch release operation member (29) in accordance with operation of the regulated release operation member (37). As a result, unnecessary emergency operation of the latch release operation member is prevented.
