Abstract:
A latching device (1) for vehicles that locks or unlocks through engagement to or disengagement from a rod-shaped part (P1) includes: a chassis (2) configured from a first member obtained at least in part from a first material, and having an insertion groove (2A) into which the rod-shaped part (P1) enters; and a second member (latch (30) or reinforcing plate (20)) for contacting the rod-shaped part (P1) and comprising a second material. The second material has a higher specific gravity and elastic modulus than the first material does. For example, the first material could be a resin and the second material could be a metal.
