Abstract:
Provided are: a latent heat storage material that changes phases within a prescribed temperature range; a cooling apparatus using the same; a distribution packaging container; a food product cooling apparatus; and a cooling method. This latent heat storage material contains: a tetrabutylammonium ion and a bromide ion constituting tetrabutylammonium bromide; a potassium ion and a nitrate ion constituting potassium nitrate; and water. The molar ratio of potassium nitrate with respect to tetrabutylammonium bromide is 0.3 to 1.3, and the molar ratio of water with respect to tetrabutylammonium bromide is 22 to 32.
