Abstract:
A latex of diene polymer particles wherein the mean particle diameter is 0.1 to 0.5 mum, the monodispersity ratio is 15 % or less and the content of the particles having diameters 0.85-1.15 times as large as the mean particle diameter is 85 % or above. The latex is produced by polymerizing a monomer composition containing a conjugated diene monomer in the presence of a seed latex having the emulsifier coverage of 85 % or less. A rubber-containing thermoplastic resin is produced by grafting a mixture of an ethylenically unsaturated nitrile monomer with an aromatic vinyl monomer onto the diene polymer particles, preferably a mixture thereof with second diene polymer particles having mean particle diameters smaller than those of the first diene polymer particles by at least 0.05 mum.
