Abstract:
Provided is a lathing tool (1) that is less likely to interfere with another tool and can supply a sufficient amount of coolant. The lathing tool (1) is provided with: a cutting insert (10) that is mirror symmetric with respect to first and second symmetry surfaces (M1, M2); and a tool body (2) that has a first discharge port (5) for supplying a coolant from a first rake surface (21R) side onto a first cutting edge (21E) of the cutting insert (10). The first discharge port (5) is positioned between a second flat surface (32) and a first reference surface (Vxz) that is parallel to the second flat surface (32) and has a ridge line of the first cutting edge (21E).
