The present invention relates to a laundry treatment apparatus comprising a cabinet which forms an outer appearance of the apparatus; a drum arranged in the cabinet such that the drum is rotatable; a heat pump for supplying hot air to the inside of the drum; a steam generator for supplying steam to the inside of the drum; and a water tank for supplying water to the steam generator, wherein the water tank is located in a refrigerant flow channel of the heat pump. According to the present invention, the initial temperature of the water used for generating steam is raised to improve steam-generating efficiency.
