Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a layered body in which alignment defects in a liquid crystal layer provided on a photo-alignment layer are suppressed, and an image display device. This layered body contains a photo-alignment layer and a liquid crystal layer provided on the photo-alignment layer, wherein the liquid crystal layer is a layer which is formed from a liquid crystal composition containing a liquid crystalline compound and a surfactant, and in which the liquid crystalline compound is solidified in a horizontally aligned state, and the surfactant being a copolymer having repeating units including a fluorinated alkyl group and repeating units including a mesogenic group.
