Title:
MEDICINE/GENE LEACHING TYPE STENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/089822
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A safe highly effective stent having the efficacies of antiinflammatory activity, antithrombotic activity, conservation of tissue restoration reaction, conservation of endothelial regenerating capability, etc. In particular, there is provided a medicine/gene leaching type stent comprising, disposed on its surface, a layer containing a gene coding for hybrid polypeptide. It is preferred that the hybrid polypeptide be one resulting from linkage of a polypeptide of collagen binding domain derived from fibronectin (FNCBD) with an antiinflammatory factor or vascularization factor. As a gene coding for hybrid polypeptide in the form of uniform microcapsules can be directly delivered to lesion sites, the amount of administration can advantageously be reduced to thereby enhance safety and effects, the effects sustained for a prolonged period of time.
