Abstract:
Provided is a lead-acid battery regeneration device which, in a short period of time, makes the reuse of a lead-acid battery possible via electrochemical decomposition/reduction of the lead sulfate crystallized insulating material (sulfation) of the lead-acid battery. A lead-acid battery regeneration device 100 for regenerating a lead-acid battery 18 by electrochemically decomposing and reducing the lead sulfate crystallized insulating material of the lead-acid battery 18, said device being equipped with a charging circuit 17 which has a capacitor and charges said capacitor with an electric charge, and also being equipped with a discharge switching circuit 19 for applying a pulse voltage to the lead-acid battery 18 by controlling so as to turn the charging circuit 17 on and off, wherein: a series resonant circuit 30 is formed by connecting the charging circuit 17, the lead-acid battery 18 and the discharge switching circuit 19 in series; and the lead-acid battery 18 is regenerated by applying the pulse voltage which has a prescribed frequency to the lead-acid battery 18 one time, which generates an nth (N is an integer of 1 or greater) higher harmonic resonance phenomenon inside the lead-acid battery 18, and repeating said pulse voltage application multiple times.
