Abstract:
The present invention relates to the manufacture of a cylindrical secondary battery having a structure in which a plurality of lead tabs are arranged in an annular shape at one end of a jelly-roll type cylindrical electrode assembly, and to a lead tab forming apparatus for a cylindrical secondary battery, which can precisely and simultaneously bend and form a plurality of lead tabs at right angles without deformation or damage in a process of bending and folding the plurality of lead tabs at one end of an electrode assembly at right angles. The lead tab forming apparatus for a cylindrical secondary battery, according to an aspect of the present invention, is a lead tab forming apparatus for a cylindrical secondary battery, which, with respect to a cylindrical electrode assembly having a structure in which a plurality of lead tabs are arranged in an annular shape at one end thereof, bends and forms the plurality of lead tabs at a predetermined angle with respect to an axial direction of the electrode assembly, the apparatus comprising: a jig base having circular, first openings which are formed to be opened and into which the plurality of lead tabs of the electrode assembly are inserted; a driving jig installed to be rotatable relative to the jig base and having second openings which correspond to the first openings of the jig base and are formed to be opened; and a plurality of forming blades which are arranged between the jig base and the driving jig in a circumferential direction, and simultaneously press the plurality of lead tabs inwardly relative to a radial direction by spreading and then retracting in the radial direction inwardly relative to the first openings and the second openings by the rotation of the driving jig with respect to the jig base.
