Abstract:
A leak detection apparatus capable of high-speed leak detection upon starting a motor car such as an HEV. The apparatus includes a signal generator (31) for generating a signal whose frequency is variably set, a resistor (33) for attenuating the signal in cooperation with the insulation resistor between a high-voltage circuit (10) and a low-voltage circuit (20), a coupling capacitor (34) for capacity-coupling one end of the resistor element with the high-voltage circuit. an LPF (35) having a cut-off frequency variably set for attenuating the higher frequency component via the coupling capacitor overlapped on the signal passing through the resistor, a leak detector (381) for comparing the amplitude level of the signal passing through the LPF with a predetermined threshold value so as to detect presence/absence of leak between the high-voltage circuit and the low-voltage circuit, and a controller (382) for setting the signal frequency of the signal generator and the LPF cut-off frequency at higher values after the low-voltage circuit is started and before the high-voltage circuit is started than after the high-voltage circuit is started.
