An end cap (20) for a pressure vessel (28) is provided, having at least one part (21) for connecting the end cap (20) to a housing (27), wherein the at least one part (21) comprises a number of recesses (23, 24), the number of recesses (23, 24) being arranged so as to form at least one fluid passage between an inside and an outside of the end cap (20), in case the end cap (20) is plugged on said housing (27). Furthermore, also a housing (27) for a pressure vessel (28) is provided, having at least one counterpart (22) for connecting an end cap (20) to the housing (27) by engaging a part (21) of the end cap (20), wherein the at least one counterpart (22) comprises a number of recesses (23, 24), the number of recesses (23, 24) being arranged so as to form at least one fluid passage between an inside and an outside of the housing (27), in case said end cap (20) is plugged on said housing (27). Further, an appropriate method for leak testing a pressure vessel (28) is provided. Further, a method for checking a connection between at least one end cap (20) and a housing (27) of a pressure vessel (28) for leak tightness is provided.
