Abstract:
The present invention provides a leaning vehicle that can increase the number of times that the engine can be started even when a battery has a short charging period or is out of charge. The leaning vehicle is provided with: a wheel that has a tread surface for being in contact with a road surface, the tread surface having an arc-like cross-sectional shape; an engine that has a crank shaft and outputs a torque for driving the wheel from the crank shaft; a permanent magnet starter motor that has a permanent magnet and rotates the crank shaft to start the engine; a deep cycle lead battery that supplies electric power to the permanent magnet starter motor when the engine is started; and an electric double layer capacitor that is connected to the deep cycle lead battery that supplies electric power to the permanent magnet starter motor when the engine is started, the electric double layer capacitor having a capacitance chargeable by the permanent magnet starter motor with an amount of electric power by which the engine is started at least once.
