Abstract:
The present invention provides a learning support device capable of performing highly reliable parameter estimation. This learning support device for supporting user learning acquires correct/incorrect data showing whether each answer by a plurality of users to multiple items to be learned is correct or incorrect, and on the basis thereof, calculating the proficiency level that represents the ability of each user, the difficulty level that represent the difficulty of each item, and the reliability level that represents the reliability of each of the proficiency level and the difficulty level. The learning support device generates a trigger that directs an update of the proficiency level and/or the difficulty level calculated, and in response to the generated trigger, uses a proficiency level or difficulty level, from among those that were calculated, that has a reliability level exceeding a first threshold, as a reference parameter, and thereby recalculates the proficiency level and/or the difficulty level for which the trigger directs an update.
