Abstract:

A leather-like sheet material characterized in that a fibrous base material and an elastomer film layer are bonded to each other by means of an adhesive layer of water-soluble or water-dispersible elastic polymer containing a silicone compound. This leather-like sheet material can be provided by a process for producing a leather-like sheet material through bonding of a fibrous base material and an elastomer film layer to each other, wherein a water solution or water dispersion of elastic polymer containing a silicone compound is applied onto the bonding surface of at least either a fibrous base material or an elastomer film layer, and dried. Thus, there can be provided a leather-like sheet material that excels in abrasion resistance and also in peel strength and flexibility, and provided a process for producing the same.
