Abstract:

An LED illumination device has a light emission module made up of plural kinds of LEDs having different emission colors, a lens unit having a lens for diffusing light of mixed colors from the light emission module, a light output controller for controlling an electric current to be conducted to each LED, and a device light sensor for detecting the light emitted from the light emission module. The light output controller feedback controls, based on an output level of the light detected, the electric current to each LED so that the light emitted from the light emission module has a predetermined color. A light guide for guiding the light from the lens to the device light sensor is integrally formed with the lens unit and efficiently guides the light from the light emission module to the device light sensor.
