Abstract:

Provided is an LED illumination device configured such that total harmonic distortion is further reduced. This LED illumination device is characterized by being provided with: a first LED row including a first LED-row segment and a second LED-row segment; a second LED row including a third LED-row segment and a fourth LED-row segment; a first switching circuit which, in accordance with the increase/decrease of the full-wave-rectified voltage waveform outputted from a rectifier, switches between a state in which only the first LED-row segment is connected to the rectifier, and a state in which the first LED-row segment and the second LED-row segment connected in series are connected to the rectifier; and a second switching circuit which switches between a state in which only the third LED-row segment is connected to the rectifier, and a state in which the third LED-row segment and the fourth LED-row segment connected in series are connected to the rectifier. The LED illumination device is further characterized in that the timing of switching by the first switching circuit and the timing of switching by the second switching circuit are set so as to be different.
