A LED light bulb, comprising an electrically-conductive bulb cap (1); a bulb base (4) arranged on said bulb cap; a light source (8) arranged on said bulb base; a bulb envelope (6) arranged on the bulb base (4) and enveloping the light source (8); and a LED driver circuit board (3) arranged within the bulb cap (1) and the bulb base (4). The light source (8) comprises a light-source base (82) and a light-emitting element (81). The light-emitting element is electrically connected to the LED driver circuit board (3). The light-emitting element (81) is composed of a polygonal-prism aluminum substrate (812) arranged on the light-source base (82), and a plurality of LED light-emitting plates (811) corresponding to and disposed on each face of the polygonal-prism aluminum substrate (812), said plates forming a peripheral enclosure. The top face of the polygonal-prism aluminum substrate (812) is also provided with a LED light-emitting plate (811), sealing the enclosure. The polygonal-prism-structured light-emitting element improves the illumination direction and angle of the light source, eliminates light-source dark spots, and greatly enhances the illumination effect. Moreover, the polygonal-prism structure of the light-emitting element is simple and convenient.
