Abstract:

Disclosed is a white LED which can have both high luminous efficiency and high color rendering properties and comprises a combination of an LED excitation light source and a fluorescent substance. Specifically disclosed is an LED light-emitting device comprising an LED chip and an yellow fluorescent substance layer and a red fluorescent substance layer both arranged along a light path emitted from the LED chip outward. The LED light-emitting device is characterized in that a value A determined in accordance with the formula: A = t1 × w1 is 4000 to 10000 inclusive and a value B determined in accordance with the formula: B = t2 × w2 is less than 0 and not less than 8000 (wherein t1 represents the thickness (μm) of the yellow fluorescent substance layer in the direction along the light path emitted from the LED chip outward; w1 represents the mass % concentration (wt%) of the fluorescent substance relative to the total mass of the yellow fluorescent substance layer; t2 represents the thickness (μm) of the red fluorescent substance layer in the direction along the light path emitted from the LED chip outward; and w2 represents the mass % concentration (wt%) of the fluorescent substance relative to the total mass of the red fluorescent substance layer).
