Abstract:
In order to provide an LED light source which enables the suppression of variations in the output characteristics of individual LED light sources by a simpler configuration, and provide an LED backlight which achieves uniform luminance on a display screen without causing color unevenness to the chromaticity of emitted light emitted from a light-emitting surface in a direct-type LED backlight, a liquid crystal display device provided with the backlight, and a TV reception apparatus, specifically disclosed is an LED light source (1) provided with an LED chip (3) which emits light of a predetermined color, and a sealing resin (4) into which a phosphor that receives the light and emits light within the excitation light wavelength range of a predetermined color, said LED light source having a configuration in which the phosphor comprises multiple kinds of phosphors which emit excitation light of multiple different wavelengths within the excitation light wavelength range of the predetermined color, and the light emitting surface thereof is formed in the shape of a diffusion lens that adjusts emitted light distribution. Also disclosed is an LED backlight (BL1) in which a plurality of LED light sources (1) are disposed such that irradiation regions of adjacent LED light sources overlap each other.
