Abstract:
A thin lens array realizable by high-precision formation by means of simple injection molding, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. In this lens array (10), a protruding section (16) is formed in a connecting region (10y) between multiple lens elements (10a) and extends in the direction in which the resin flows during molding, enabling filling, with little pressure drop, melted resin (J) in various locations in a cavity (70a) of a mold device (70) for forming the thin lens array (10), and enabling high-precision transcription of the optical surface, including of the lens elements (10a) far from a gate (GA). Further, a mold recess for transcribing the protruding section (16) has the role of aiding the uniform spread of the resin, and this facilitates preventing formation of welds due to wrapping around of the molten resin (J).
