Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a lens design method which enables selection of a prism amount taking into account optical performance. [Solution] This lens design method includes: a condition setting step (S1) for setting multiple candidate values of the prism amount of a progressive refractive power lens between an object-side first surface and an eyeball-side second surface, on the basis of a prescription value of a wearer; a shape determining step (S2) for determining the shape of the progressive refractive power lens by using the prescription value, for each of the multiple candidate values; a performance calculating step (S3) for calculating optical performance information of the progressive refractive power lens, the shape of which has been determined for each of the predetermined candidate values in the shape determining step; and a performance index calculating step (S4) for calculating a performance index value indicating change in the optical performance information based on the prism amount.
